Built on Boards – Kelly Clark Rides the Feelgood™

Here’s something to feel good about: meet the bread and butter, high performance pinnacle of the women’s line.

Thanks to the direct input of some of snowboarding’s strongest female voices, the Feelgood reigns as the one board that truly conquers it all.

It’s no surprise that this is the board Kelly Clark chose to run with. It’s taken her to some amazing places, including the #1 spot on podiums at every major snowboard event in the world. In fact, Kelly has taken more titles than any other rider alive – all with the Feelgood. She’s tenacious in her pursuit of the perfect run, and self-driven to be a role model for snowboarders at every level. Kelly’s a champion that any rider can look up to, and likewise, the Feelgood is designed to elevate every rider’s all-terrain abilities.

Originally developed in 1996, the Feelgood was the result of a one-woman protest inside Burton HQ. Shannon Dunn-Downing, a Burton team rider and pioneer in women’s competitive snowboarding, was one of the driving forces behind early women’s product development. In 1995, Burton released our first-ever women’s board. It was called the Dolphin, and was basically just a sized-down version of the Burton Custom™.

Shannon didn’t approve. In fact, she protested the whole idea of simply downsizing a men’s board, and didn’t budge until Burton produced an all-terrain board designed 100% for women. As you might have guessed, the result was the Feelgood.

Together, Kelly Clark and the Feelgood represent a combined legacy for blasting through barriers. The Feelgood is now renowned for its prowess everywhere from the park to the backcountry.

This year’s model features the words “Bend knees – Go Fast.” It’s Kelly’s mantra that she says to herself every time she drops into the halfpipe. It also features 100% FSC™ certified wood and Burton’s exclusive Super Sap® bio-based epoxy, reducing the overall carbon footprint of each board for a ride that’s equally reliable and sustainable. Available with the stable suspension of camber or the rocker-infused freedom of Flying V™, the Feelgood is a guaranteed good ride for those who embrace the all-mountain approach – or who just want to rip the halfpipe like Kelly. Although, if that’s your goal, you’d better strap in and get to work.
